Galatians is one of the most clear and beautiful descriptions of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can find in the Bible. Paul is articulate, he is insightful, he is pastoral, and above all he is Christ-exalting. We can be sure that jumping off the high dive into the great pool that is the letter to the Galatians, we will come out drenched and saturated with the holiness, the grace, and the remarkable beauty of Jesus' work for our heart.
As human beings, we are prone to work and wander. We are naturally bent towards seeking to build and bulldoze our way through life. We're taught to set goals, to strategize toward them, and to stop at nothing to achieve! The problem is that we cannot work, wander, build, or bulldoze our way to deliverance.
It is not a work of obedience but a work of grace!
This is one of the major themes in the letter to the Galatians. A theme that is not only mentally and spiritual critical to grasp, but also experientially rich as the Lord speaks loudly, through a megaphone of grace, to our souls that deliverance comes through faith alone in Christ alone.
